Chessie the Superstar is my 8-year-old rescue Cockapoo. She is adorable. I am a photographer. Therefore we had to do a cake-smash session for her birthday (cake made by a doggy bakery with doggy-friendly ingredients). We have four rescues total and they all attended the party. They dared not approach the cake however. The birthday girl wouldn’t allow it.

I rescued Chessie from the local pound and she had been there longer than any other dog. I guess she was just waiting for me because I can’t imagine why anyone passed her by. Hit by a car, heartworms, frost bitten, but still had an amazing joy and love for life. Now she’s a local celebrity and model. Every time I pick up my camera, she sits politely and begins to pose.
