This sure-to-please dish is easy to prepare and travels well -- perfect for both autumn picnics and everyday meals. Paper cake molds make transporting easy.

Ingredients

  • 1½ c. all-purpose flour
  • ¾ tsp. baking powder
  • 1½ tsp. baking soda
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 6 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • ¾ c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • ¼ c. sour cream
  • 2 tbsp. sour cream
  • 1 c. sweet pear
  • 9 slice pear

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly butter and flour 9 4-inch tart pans. Combine the first 4 ingredients in a medium bowl and set aside. Beat the butter and sugar, using a mixer set on high speed, until light and fluffy. Add the spices, egg, and vanilla; mix to combine. Reduce speed to low, add the flour mixture and sour cream. Stir in the pears. Pour 1/3 cup batter into each mold, top with a pear slice; bake for 20 minutes and cool.
