- 3/4 cup butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 cups sliced apples
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions

Cook: 35 Minutes
- In greased 8" x 8" cake pan, melt butter and mix in brown sugar and cinnamon. Put sliced apples in mixture and stir until apples are coated. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, milk, shortening, egg, and vanilla, and spread over apple mixture. Bake at 350°F for about 35 minutes, or until cake mixture is light brown and firm to the touch. Let cool 20 minutes, then turn out on plate.
