Despite its name, in
America, this is definitely a dessert cake--but also a sweet treat
served with coffee. A handsome item for any occasion.

- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup cooking oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup chopped nuts (any kind)
- 1 cup grated coconut
- CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:
- 1 package (3 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 box Confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
Directions

Cook: 60 Minutes
- Combine flour with brown sugar, sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and baking soda. Mix well. In separate bowl, beat eggs well, then beat in oil, vanilla, and buttermilk. Stir into dry ingredients until well-blended. Add 3/4 cup nuts and coconut. Grease and flour a 10" tube pan. Turn batter into tube pan and bake at 350°F for 1 hour. Remove from pan and cool on rack. Spread with Cream Cheese Frosting (see below) and sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup nuts.
- Cream Cheese Frosting: Blend cream cheese, vanilla, sugar, and butter together, and beat until of spreadable consistency.
